Sunflowers-
In the fields of gold
outside of Fargo
you saw your heart melt one day.
Having no notion
that she'd be the ocean,
your vessel did seek more to sway.
Still, in your mind
you remember a time
when you breathed the mid-western air
the angle of light,
its stars at night
and a girl you may have left there.
The bright red hair
and skin so fair
Now a spirit among your sunflowers.
You dream of the day
and search for a way
your partings will only mean hours.
